43 Greenville County teachers achieved National Board Certification

Greenville County Schools announces the addition of 43 new National Board Certified (NBC) teachers, one of the most outstanding achievements of vocational training. Of 605 teachers have achieved National Board Certification, Greenville County School occupies 11 th place in the land of the 13,862 school districts (based on the most recent data), the total number of NBC teachers.

Statewide, 497 teachers achieved National Board Certification this year, bringing the total of South Carolina in 7784. South Carolina ranks third in the country, behind North Carolina and Florida. NBCTs represent about 15.5 percent of the faculty of the State of about 50,000 teachers.

"I am proud of the teachers who went the extra mile to achieve national certification," said the doctor, district manager Phinnize J. Fisher. "These highly qualified teachers have met rigorous criteria through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment and peer assessment, which in turn will have a major impact on the children they teach."
